Invites to Quora

I have invites for Quora, a social search site launched earlier this year by a bunch of ex-Facebookers (including former CTO Adam D’Angelo andCharlie Cheever (who previously led Facebook Platform and Facebook Connect)–and which was just funded at an $86M valuation. If you would like an invite to Quora, just ask for in the comment. Make sure you are putting your correct e-mail address in the e-mail field so that I know where to send the invite to. If you put your email address in the comments, you might get an invite from some generous fellow, but you might get a lot of spam from even more generous fellows. You will have to use either your Facebook or Twitter account to authenticate to Quora first time. To make my life easier, I have created the following form. This will ensure your email stays out of public eyes and I don’t have to copy …

Google Maps & Latitude

10 years ago, you might have met a friend online and after endless hours of chatting you finally agree to meet. Remember, 10 years ago, not many people had digital cameras and a digital picture were often rare. So you wait in the park looking all around you searching for someone holding “Internet For Dummies” in their right hand, while others think you just robbed an old lady. Today or maybe a couple of years in the future you are sitting in the same park, but this time you are not behaving as if the cops were after you. Instead, you have your eyes glued to your mobile watching that blue dot moving closer to you while those nearby think you are watching YouTube. Have you ever wanted to know where your friends are? Isn’t it just possible that you and I might have been on the same street, but …

After fulfilling my childhood dream of being a fighter pilot, I decided to check what was eating up space on my C drive. WinDirStat is a tool that anyone who can install an OS should have on their computer. It will show you which files are using up most space and the file type. As I suspected the page file was eating up more than 2 GB and after setting up my computer to clear page file automatically, I was browsing the folders when I noticed something strange. Firefox was my default browser, until Google came up with Chrome . Since Chrome still does not have extensions and RSS …

Game of the day – Desktop Tower Defense

Desktop Tower Defense: “Desktop TD is a fun flash based puzzle / strategy game where you have to protect your desktop from invaders by spending money on attacking pieces and building a maze for them to follow. Strangely addictive yet stress relieving… how many levels can you survive?” My takeI wouldn’t call this a stress reliever, it is a good game to take your matter off things, and something interesting to do when you don’t have any work to do. But, “familiarity breeds contempt”; I played this game late into the night yesterday and now, I don’t find myself eager to play it again. But yes, when I am at work, with nothing better to do, I would like to sneak a game or two.
